While the first year of the project was devoted to analyzing state-of-the-art and building up a conceptual model for technology-enhanced learning in higher ed, ICOPER is entering now a new phase. Driven by a cross-WP activity focusing on the development of mock-ups, the vertical work packages 2 to 6 are currently in the process of defining their validation scenarios.

This is what ICOPER's vertical work packages are currently working on:

WP2 - Learning Needs and Opportunities Testbed

  • Building screen mock-ups of WP2 use cases: exchange of learning outcome defintions (LODs) and learning outcome profiles (LOPs) for the purpose of maintaining educational portfolios and learning-outcome oriented curricula
  • Creating XDS schema and XML sample instances for LOD and LOP and
  • Creating a repository of LODs

WP3 - Instructional Modelling Testbed

  • Development of training materials on IMS LD related topics.
  • ICOPER IMS LD Hands-on workshop with teachers
  • Data analysis of first IMS LD investigation, hereby identifying requirements for specifications for teaching methods and units-of-learning)
  • Continuing work on mock-ups simulating exchange platforms for learning-outcome oriented descriptions for units-of-learning as well as re-usable teaching methods.

WP4 - Content Development & Re-use Testbed

  • Encouraging partners to contribution to best practice study D4.2: Quality control and Web 2.0 technologies report. The document is a wiki that is used as repository of best practice information.

WP5 - Learning Delivery Testbed

  • Working towards a best-practice driven reference implementation of IMS-LD with a special focus on the combination of teaching methods with rich media (open) content, and collaboration services.
  • Until the mid of December we are elaborating IMS-LD "key benefits" for practitioners in higher education and vocational training settings while deriving best-practice driven requirements for a next generation IMS-LD.

WP6 - Assessment & Evaluation Testbed

  • Refining first version of assessment data model included in the ICOPER Reference Model (IRM). Continue elaborating reference meta-model for assessment content taking into account learning outcomes
  • Organizing working group on “future assessment formats”
  • Research on ePortfolio standards
  • Creating mock-ups of assessment use cases for OICS and implementing proof of concept of integrating assessment content in OICS
